Cheap and cheerful

Recently I have been on the biggest budget/spending ban of my life and it's pretty boring. I have however been learning to hunt for bargains and miracle bargain products and 2 of them are my true loves at the minute. I've been having problems with my skin for the first time in my life, but not spots, blocked pores. Now, I would have loved to have just gone out and spent £20/£30 on some high end product but it just wasn't possible. In Boots one day I just decided to pick up the Neutrogena Blackhead Eliminating Cleanser for £3.99 and I haven't looked back. I never have hot water in my student house, so cleansing at the sink can be a bit of a problem for my skin but this is an easy product to use and it has really cleared up my skin and left my pores much less visible. If you have dry skin however, this probably isn't the one for you!

My hair is finally getting a little bit longer and I feel like I want to start styling it a bit more again. I've become obsessed by peoples curly or wavy hair and when I mentioned the Enrapture tongs to my mum we decided we needed to get up to Boots asap. In my local store there wasn't any Enrapture products available but we did spot the Babyliss pro curls tongs for about £20 and thought we might as well give them a go. Let me tell you, these do the trick! They're easy to use again and on my hair they were really effective for giving loose, soft curls and I'm sure I could conjure up something more extreme and glam if I wished. For those of you on a budget who I feel in need of a little pampering and a beauty boost, these have definitely got my recommendation!
Do you have any miracle bargain products that you swear by?

Too shy, can't speak

Jacket: Topshop, Lip Stick: Topshop, Blush: Benefit, Trainers: Vans via Office, Purse: Vivienne Westwood via Selfridges, Necklace: ASOS

Oh my goodness, I have honestly had to be so disciplined since Christmas and on a complete spending ban from clothes and accessories and makeup...I haven't bought a thing! So you can only imagine how excited I am that it's my 21st birthday on Saturday and I've made myself a little bit of money on eBay - treat time!! First on my list of clothing wants is a pink blazer. Now, I don't really know why as I'm not the biggest pink person but I honestly feel like I need one. The Vivienne Westwood purse was something I spotted while on the hunt for nice things to ask for and I'm just in love with it, pink again for some reason. I'm definitely going to treat myself to some new makeup bits with the money I've made because I am in a bit of a rut when it comes to my face, I feel the need for a new coral lipstick and/or blush but also feeling for Benefit Hervana as it is just so beautiful. The Asos necklace is just a really lovely piece I think, and some new jewellery could be a cheaper way to give my wardrobe a little boost. Also, I haven't had a pair of trainers for so so many years but for some reason I'm really drawn to wanting a pair of Vans at the minute, I just don't know what I have in my wardrobe that would suit?! Hopefully I'll be able to share some lovely new things with you after the weekend, finally!

Breakfast: Just a few mixers: V day face: Pina Coladaaa: Everybody needs to try Fireball and apple juice: V day roses: New Look jumper and velvet skirt: So yummy: Blood Brothers: More cocktails: My face again: Styling out a drunken injury

Things are crazy busy at the minute so I really apologise that I can't be a better blogger! So in love with you all keep commenting and following, you're brill. I spent another weekend at home this weekend for a pre-bday day with my mum and my sisters and it was honestly my best day yet this year by far. We went to see Blood Brothers and it was so brilliant, I am a sucker for stage shows. We also has a massive lunch and drank as man cocktails as we could physically manage so all in all a very satisfactory day. I've got eBay orders to pack and send at the beginning of this week and then lots of lovely bits and pieces and then my 21st so it's another hectic one but I'll be back ASAP!

twist and shout

I'm sure everybody's news feeds and timelines are full of declarations of love and photos and bunches of flowers so I won't bore you with any of that. Yesterday I spent about 4/5 hours in the kitchen making my boyfriend about 25 cupcakes (why so many?!!). I separated eggs, creamed mixtures together, melted chocolate, whisked egg whites (really impressed by this one), smashed two bowls, got flour all over myself and ate icing until I felt sick. Thought I'd share with you a few photos and a much easier chocolate cupcake recipe (here!) than the one I used. I topped them all off with a square of turkish delight as that is my boyfriends absolute favourite, but they would work for anyone topped off with their own favourite, I think malteasers would be a good one! Have a good day whatever you're doing! Also check out my millions of ebay listings if you're after some bargains or pattern cutting books for cheap, here.

So work was cancelled because of the snow, no Prince Harry for me this weekend. Although I am going to sorely miss the money, it has meant I've had a really lovely and relaxing weekend at home. Yesterday I took a little trip to Bicester Outlet Village and it was actually really good. I really liked some of the bags and purses in the Vivienne Westwood store and there were some lovely bits in All Saints too. To help make up for the missed out income I'm currently listing my entire wardrobe on ebay so please check it out and see if anything takes your fancy. I've got shoes, clothes and accessories from brands like Topshop, River Island and Sonia by Sonia Rykiel all with really low starting prices. You can see them here Tomorrow I'm baking up a storm for valentines day making some primrose bakery chocolate cupcakes with my boyfriends favourite chocolate - turkish delight - on top. I'll be sure to share them with you! Just the one photo of my face today, I'm really busy ebay-ing so sorry!!

A certain kind of sadness

Just incase you didn't know guys, it's snowing! I'm so happy to finally see some snow, personally I'm a big fan of the stuff. I'm tucked up in bed reblogging bits and pieces on my tumblr so I thought I'd share. Controversial maybe, but I think I prefer Grease 2, thoughts below. Also I'm on the instagram hype if you'd like to follow me, my username is lucillejp. I've had it and been using it to take photos for ages but literally only just started using it as a social media type thing to follow other people (and be followed)!

Weekend makeup: The reality of my weekend: Absolute joy, the orange one <3: Feeling poorly called for Waitrose sweet potato and parmesan soup: Fashion Revolution China exhibition at AUCB: Going out

So I'm finding blogging a little difficult at the minute. I never know when I'm going to be free so can never really plan to post anything, and as I've mentioned tonnes of times the lighting at uni is horrific so photos can be few and far between. There also seems to be no structure to the blog at the minute because of all the unpredictability and I'm gutted because I love blogging! I thought maybe having a Sunday post to focus on doing every week might help so that's what I'm going to do!

This week has been a fairly quiet one. Finally got a Nandos chicken wrap and spicy rice in me yesterday though so probably ending on a slightly higher note than it started. I've started a project for the branding of GFW for my uni, if anyone is going to be involved in that let me know! I've spent my weekend procrastinating from writing an article about All Walks Beyond the Catwalk by watching Louise's hilarious and addictive youtube videos. If you're not familiar with either, you need to be! Next week I'm mainly looking forward to heading home for the weekend, even if it is to work. Prince Harry is going to be there though so it might just be the first meeting of me and my future husband, pahhh.
