3 Steps

My skin hasn't been itself recently and I've been noticing a lot of blocked pores and, not spots, but little red bumps on my cheeks particularly (nice). It was making me a little grumpy and instead of experimenting or potentially making the problem worse, I decided to go a little bit old school and invest in the 3 step skin care system from Clinique. I like the idea of having 3 products, matched to your skin type by a consultant to use day and night. I was told I was skin type two which is dry/combination skin, it was a bit pricey and all three cost me £58 from Debenhams. The first step is to cleanse your face with a foaming face wash. You then use the exfoliant to remove dead skin cells with a cotton pad and finally moisturise. It's pretty straight forward to use and doesn't take a great deal of time or effort which is a big plus for me!

I've been using the system for about a month now and I can honestly say that it has dramatically improved the condition of my skin. My pores have virtually disappeared where before I found them very noticeable, my mum even said so the other day! I rarely get a spot and if I do it's nothing that can't be covered. I struggle with dry patches sometimes, particularly around my nose, and the dramatically different moisturiser seems to have combated this and left me with my softer, more even skin. It was the most expensive of the lot though at about £28 so I would expect good things really! I have used about 1/5th of the products, if that, so they definitely last a long time and appear to be good value. All in all I'm very pleased with my skincare and would probably repurchase when I run out as I know it works well for me. There's still a way to go before I can call my skin perfect but Clinique has been a step in the right direction.

Have you tried any Clinique skin care? What do you think?

I have to just say, you're all such a lovely lot! You always leave such lovely comments, and I very much appreciate them, so thank you all! Sorry for my absence this past week but uni has become a bit mental. I had a deadline this week but as I'm working towards Graduate Fashion Week which isn't until the 10th June, the fun hasn't stopped at hand in this time!! I worked a bit at home this weekend though so I'm hoping to treat myself to a few makeup bits on payday which will be brill. I've also got lots of exciting plans for this summer when it finally starts and I plan to be a perfect blogger for the 4 months I'm at home so there's lots to look forward to after the next 3 weeks of busy-ness. Anyone else got anything exciting planned for the summer? I'd love to hear what you're all doing!

It's been a lovely weekend after a tough week and just before a deadline on Wednesday. Because I managed to buckle down and pretty much complete a report that's due in, I've been able to enjoy the last two days of glorious weather that I know won't be continuing much longer. I also managed to watch the BGT final, absolutely chuffed that Pudsey one, he compeltely melted my heart he was so cute. I'm looking forward to handing in some work this week and heading home next weekend to make a little bit of money. Hopefully, I'll be able to get home for the summer soon and get a job and treat myself to lots of bits that I'm currently coveting! How did you spend your weekend? Was the weather good for you?

So I've well and truly lost control of my diet this weekend (currently eating a mini flapjack) but it's definitely been worth it. Had a good Friday night and had my old flatmate from London (aka love of my life) come visit yesterday and we had an incredible time, all over the silent disco and mmm bop we were. Today I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself (bit of a pattern recently) even though I deserve no sympathy. Looking forward to bank holiday Monday as I should be going to see The Avengers which I've heard great things about! Then Tuesday is mine and my boyfriends 3 years so that should be a nice day too, so I'm looking forward to this week! What did you get up to this weekend and what do you have planned for the bank holiday?

Get ya hair did

After a pretty harsh and horrible (and long!!) winter, my hair is in need of some serious tlc. It's feeling dry, the colour is all washed out and I'm sure any hairdresser will tell me off about my split ends. Is it just me that only goes to the hairdresser a few times each year and not anywhere near every 6 weeks? I liked my hair being a little bit darker for winter but I don't really think I should be for summer as I'm naturally fair haired anyway. I would love to be as blonde as I was last summer for this year but the upkeep was a nightmare and it really is damaging. So I have a bit of dilemma on my hands. I don't really want anything drastic done to the cut because I'm trying to grow it all out again. I love long, one length hair so much! I'm thinking of some honey or strawberry blonde tones and a subtle (but more obvious than my last colour) ombre as I'm still not sick of the style.

Any suggestions? What would you have done to your hair?

One, Two, Three

Bag:Zara, Jacket:Zara, Necklace:ASOS

Three things that have caught my eye this week. I'm in a bit of a muddle with my style at the minute and I don't think the weather is really helping with that so I keep feeling really badly put together and a bit messy. Hate that! Maybe some little finishing touches will add something interesting to the masses of basics I already own and help me feel more put together! I need to be working from a list like I did last summer instead of just impulsively purchasing bits because nothing seems to be going together very well. So, if we're going with the idea of a list, I definitely don't need any more necklaces but a new bag and/or jacket could definitely be on the cards. Just hanging on for the sun to make an appearance so I can really get into my summer wardrobe!
