Childish

All images can be found on my Tumblr here

Boohoo, no camera so I'm going to have to go with instagrams and found images for a little while I'm afraid. I'm at the beginning of a short 10 week fashion product project and my dissertation at the minute and both are children/youth based hence the slight childish theme. I love tumblr for organising my thoughts and inspirations at the beginning of projects! Please feel free to leave links to any of yours in the comments and I'll definitely check them out, perfect form of procrastination!

I just thought I'd take the opportunity for some final thoughts on my two weeks on Jenny Craig. I had hoped to do a better post with some more images but the burglary has kind of gotten in the way of all that and because I went home unexpectedly as a result I finished about a day and a half early, although I've made the effort to use up what I missed at the beginning of this week. I would save it for another time but it's probably best to do it while it's all fresh in my head. First of all I'm going to say how over the moon I was to find out that I lost around 5/6 lbs on the diet plan! For two weeks of pretty enjoyable food and never feeling hungry I think this is amazing! I would definitely recommend it to anyone that feels like they need to get out of some bad habits. While I can't afford to continue on the plan on my student budget, I have adopted the basic principles of the plan (such as small but regular meals and fruit with my breakfast and salad with my lunch) to incorporate my own foods and I'm hoping to carry on losing a few more lbs if I don't fall into dangerous uni habits of snacking on chocolate when I'm stressed! If you're intrigued check out their website here. I'm very grateful for the opportunity to try the diet and would definitely consider it again after uni as I was so impressed with how easy it was to stick to.

Not so much time to blog this week which is a shame. I've been juggling two jobs (not an interesting outfit in sight at either) and yesterday I went to see the Olympic torch relay through my town which was actually such good fun. I've been treating myself to a couple of hair and skin care bits in Boots on my lunch breaks so I'll let you know how I get on with them! I thought I'd do a little picture post today as I haven't in so long and I like a bit of variety! How's your week been so far?

Deadlines are truly the worst. Bare with me, I need a million more hours in the day.

Get ya hair did

After a pretty harsh and horrible (and long!!) winter, my hair is in need of some serious tlc. It's feeling dry, the colour is all washed out and I'm sure any hairdresser will tell me off about my split ends. Is it just me that only goes to the hairdresser a few times each year and not anywhere near every 6 weeks? I liked my hair being a little bit darker for winter but I don't really think I should be for summer as I'm naturally fair haired anyway. I would love to be as blonde as I was last summer for this year but the upkeep was a nightmare and it really is damaging. So I have a bit of dilemma on my hands. I don't really want anything drastic done to the cut because I'm trying to grow it all out again. I love long, one length hair so much! I'm thinking of some honey or strawberry blonde tones and a subtle (but more obvious than my last colour) ombre as I'm still not sick of the style.

Any suggestions? What would you have done to your hair?

Denim on denim

Naughtily skipped out my Sunday post this week, please forgive but I was shattered! I went home this weekend to work, the Queen was there so it was all very exciting and nice to be making a little bit of money to spend on unnecessarily expensive things.

Last week I jumped on a bit of an emerging bandwagon and snapped up a mens Levi's denim jacket from eBay for about £20 inc. P&P. Considering my friend bought one in Urban Outfitters for £55, I couldn't let it go really. It's massive and a little bit out of my comfort zone as I'm more a blazer/leather jacket person but I think I'm going to enjoy wearing it! I've trawled the internet for a bit of inspiration and found that they work best with florals and other prints or juxtaposed against something really girly. I'm not adverse to a bit of double denim sometimes either, don't judge! I wore mine today with a floral tunic and leggings and am picturing it in the summer with a pastel polka dot midi like this one from Dorothy Perkins.

Do you own a denim jacket? How do you wear yours?

#9

Just a quick one today, in a black and white photo mood! I've been really busy unexpectedly the last few days and listing my life again on eBay. Definitely addicted! Going to try to get a couple more posts up before I go back to uni early this week. I'm a bit sad to be going as it's been a lovely couple of weeks at home and my friends from other unis have only just come home for their two weeks. Made a couple of purchases that I can show you this week too, finally! New Look have surprisingly had a lot to offer recently, definitely hunt down some of their supersoft skinny jeans if you can!

A certain kind of sadness

Just incase you didn't know guys, it's snowing! I'm so happy to finally see some snow, personally I'm a big fan of the stuff. I'm tucked up in bed reblogging bits and pieces on my tumblr so I thought I'd share. Controversial maybe, but I think I prefer Grease 2, thoughts below. Also I'm on the instagram hype if you'd like to follow me, my username is lucillejp. I've had it and been using it to take photos for ages but literally only just started using it as a social media type thing to follow other people (and be followed)!

Fairy Lights

I can't do it. I'm going to have to talk about Christmas again! Tinsel, fairy lights and mince pies have been purchased (highly recommend the puff pastry beauties from the bakery bit in Tesco). Advent calendar is ready to go and I can finally listen to Wham 'Last Christmas' tomorrow. I'm really, stupidly excited and happy to be heading home for longer than a couple of days, my family were just the biggest babes this weekend, so much love!

Before I can resign myself to days full of hot drinks, lots of food and Home Alone I do have to get some work done however. I have two really boring, dry projects about networking, sourcing blah blah blah but they have given me the opportunity to talk to some really lovely people, including some of my favourite bloggers who have been incredibly lovely and helpful. My third project is actually really fun and I've been practicing with stop motion animations of silly stuff like pugs and velcro rollers to super mario music. I really am so childish. I've been using my tumblr to help keep me on track with inspirations to fit in with me and my style (romantic, nostalgic, childish, witty) and these are a few of my favourites that I've been reblogging and finding. I thought I'd share them as I've personally found them really influential and some have been a bit of starting point so some of you might like them. I've finally purchased a tripod now as well and although I don't really have the space in my uni room to take good outfit photos, when I get home I am on that! Countdown has well and truly started, how's everyone else been getting into the Christmas spirit? Do you love the festive season or loathe it?

Pictures that I gone and done

Pinky promise I'll have a haul coming up for you this week. Had a bit of an intense few days in preparation for a deadline today and I'm feeling absolutely shattered. I miss blogging! I still read every comment and visit all your blogs even if I don't get a chance to reply! Every one visit this page for a good EL OH EL, cheered me up out of my slightly homesick, very tired and very disappointed mood today (his twitter is also worth a look if you're a fan). Anyone like to point me in the direction of anything else hilarious to keep this mood up? I'll be sure to return the favour, my boyfriend is a brilliant internet nerd, I think I've seen every funny video on youtube. Cannot wait to post something proper this week!
